I have been struggling with a finding an authentic margarita recipe and this is as good as it gets! I added a tbs of gran marnier on top to make it a cadillac (after I tried it per recipe first!) hmmm… why not muddle lime along with the mint (would release the oils from the peel)? something i’ve taken to doing when sugar is involved is keeping some simple syrup on hand so that the sugar is incorporated evenly. for mojitos i’ve also muddled a small amount of granulated sugar (which helps grind the mint and lime) and used less syrup.
Just thought I would let you know the mojitos wend down a storm. Everyone who had one loved it. Shaking a mojitos might horrify the purist, but it was a great party piece!
